There was a time when all I wanted to do was move away from the Hudson Valley. Move somewhere warm, somewhere far away, somewhere exciting. I wanted a destination, I wanted to be anywhere but here.
It was always in the back of my mind that I would grow up. Get married and move away, far far away.
That’s not exactly how things worked out. I did grow up. I got married. I did anything but move far far away. All I did was move in one big circle.
I went from a small town in Westchester about 40 minutes from New York City. To a smaller town in Rockland (even closer to NYC). To another smaller town in Orange County. Somewhere along the way, I made it over to Dutchess County, (an easy 90 minutes on the Metro-North). Between you and me, my heart has always been in the Hudson Valley, regardless of what my head was telling me when I was younger. It is where I met and married my husband, we celebrate a milestone this year. Where we bought a home and raised our children. There is no doubt about it the Hudson Valley is my home, I think I’ll be here forever. My destination is here in the Hudson Valley.
One of my favorite things as a wedding planner is to share my love of the Hudson Valley with couples who think this is where they would like to celebrate the best day of their lives. Let’s talk about destination weddings. Hosting a wedding in the Hudson Valley is a great way to share this magical place. The options you have are endless. They range from beautiful historic mansions to chic refurbished barns. There are industrial spaces that will rival a ballroom anytime, and we have some spectacular ballrooms as well. Oh and let’s not forget about throwing up a tent on some of the most amazing properties.
Ready to take the plunge? Let’s get married, sit back, and let me share with you some of my favorite wedding venues. I know a thing or two about the Hudson Valley, let’s connect. www.roganandcoevents.com
