Each year, Pantone is the most highly esteemed color company in the United States. Each year they release the year’s color based on trends, projects, and their unique eye for style. Pantone’s color of the year plays a huge role in determining that year’s fashion trends and has the potential to play a significant role in your wedding day.
Let me introduce myself in case we have yet to have the pleasure! I’m Stacey, lead wedding planner, owner, and designer here at Rogan & Co. Weddings and Events. We live for (and love) to plan weddings for amazing couples across the Hudson Valley and beyond. We are very excited about Pantone’s Color of the Year! Join us as we explore it!
At the end of 2021, Pantone announced the color of 2022 would be ‘Very Peri’ (PANTONE® 17-3938), “a new Pantone color whose courageous presence encourages personal inventiveness and creativity” (Pantone, Color of the Year 2022). Whether you’d consider yourself to be courageous or creative, this color is an absolute MUST for 2022 weddings.
There is much room for creativity and making this color your own when inviting it into the wedding space. Whether you dress your bridesmaids in Very Peri, add pops of periwinkle flowers to your bouquet, or feature the beautiful storm of blue and purple to your wedding invites and save the dates, you will not regret having Very Peri as your wedding color.
A few things to take into consideration when considering selecting Very Peri as your wedding color:
From having your Very Peri be worn by your entire wedding party to just having Very Peri be featured in your floral arrangements, you truly cannot go wrong with having this be your main wedding color or simply a supporting color.
Here are some of our favorite out-of-the-box ways to feature Very Peri in your wedding: your invitations, your ring box, your shoes, your cake or dessert decorations, the groom’s tie, bow tie, or pocket square, your table runners, or your seating assignments.

Consider your photographer’s shooting and editing style. Do they have a moodier editing style? Focus more on neutrals with splashes of Very Peri mixed into your bouquet or tablescape. Or your photographer has a more light and airy look to their pictures. In this case, a bridesmaid’s dress in Very Peri could be a great option!
If you’re considering having your bridesmaids wear a variation of Very Peri for your special day, we’d recommend looking at the following:
Very Peri is a genuinely magnificent color, and you won’t regret tieing it into your wedding design. Let’s connect if you need help envisioning how to use Very Peri to its full potential on your special day.
